Would you like help researching your family history?
Researching your family history can be an extremely rewarding experience. If you would like guidance on how to search for family history records online, or would just like to know how to start, please get in contact with Liz Sharp at Wishaw LogintoLearn centre.
- Find what genealogy internet sites are useful and how to use them
- Develop basic computer skills
- Look for relatives using Birth, Marriage and Death certificates and the appropriate internet sites
- Learn how to use the Census returns
- Find other documents e.g. Army records, passenger lists and old parochial records
- Develop basic computer skills further so you are confident with internet research skills, and the storing and retrieval of information.
You may also want to complete a course and obtain a certificate in basic computer skills. It's rewarding, fun and can help you in so many ways.

To help research your Scottish Ancestry, our centres at Wishaw, Coatbridge, Cumbernauld and Motherwell will allow you to buy Discount Credits for access to the many archives of births, marriages, deaths and Scottish historical records held on the ScotlandsPeople online resource.
